Single Sign On (SSO) facilitates authenticating Scale-up user accounts via trusted external identity providers, usually a central identity provider for an organisation. Instead of using a specific Scale-up password, users can authenticate with their common organisation login, giving system administrators full control over who can get access, password policies or additional Multi Factor Authentication steps (MFA).
Scale-up Systems supports SSO integrations via Open ID Connect (OIDC) for the following identity providers
- Microsoft Identity Platform/Azure Active Directory
- Okta
Requirements
- IT administrators need to have administrative access to their Microsoft Identity or Okta set-up to configure the integration
- End users need to install Scale-up Suite 2.1 or higher to sign into Scale-up Suite via SSO; the Scale-up SSO dashboard provides tools to help with the migration
Set-up workflow
The person managing the SSO integration for an organization should:
- sign up for a scale-up account at https://account.scale-up.com and activate the account
- contact ITsupport@scale-up.com to request an SSO integration on behalf of your organization
- In your email message, please define:
- the email address used for the Scale-up Account
- an indication of which identity provider you are using
- root email domains for which SSO shall be set up (can also be provided later)
A support engineer will then set up an SSO account for your organization. Once configured, access to the SSO management dashboard will be available through the user profile page of the admin user.
